Downwell

Downwell is an incredibly unique and challenging 8-bit-style roguelike platformer game developed by Ojiro Fumoto and released in 2015. The goal of Downwell is to make it to the bottom of a well using only your gunboots - shoes with guns attached to the bottom.

The game is incredibly simple, but also highly challenging. With only two buttons - jump and shoot - you must navigate the procedurally generated levels and dodge enemies, traps, and obstacles. You can pick up items and power ups that give you extra abilities, like more health, better weapons, or invincibility. The enemies also offer different challenges and rewards, such as coins and gems.
